NEA yet to collect Rs 300 million

The Bharatpur distribution center of Nepal Electricity Office (NEA) is yet to collect more than Rs 300 million from its official and individual consumers.
The office said that it has to collect more than Rs 111 million from individual consumers and the remaining from government offices, private offices and factories.
Likewise, the office has to collect Rs 62.7 million from municipality, Rs 40.5 million from Rampur Campus, Rs 20.5 million from Irrigation Office, Rs 50 million from government and non-government offices and Rs 20.5 million from industries.
The office has cut off electricity service to Chitwan Cold Store. Though the office requested to clear electricity bills many times but the cold store did not heed its call.
Bhagawan Dhakal, assistant accountant of the NEA office, said dues amounting Rs 10 million may not be collected. Electricity leakage went up this year compared to last year.
Meanwhile, locals of eastern Chitwan have padlocked the NEA office saying that it imposed load shedding more than it was supposed to.
